After the new treatments specially for children available at evian®SPA, the Hôtel Royal and Bonpoint have expanded their collection of “precious family moments”, to be enjoyed all year round, with a donkey ride. A new opportunity for family bonding, a sort of golden nugget the heart treasures for a lifetime.
Indeed, if there's an authentic experience to be discovered, it's first and foremost at the Genti'Ânes farm, in the company of Benjamin, the owner, and his little herd of donkeys.
Calicot, Iris, Igor, Casimir and their friends are fabulous travel companions, taking families out walking all year round. The little ones ride on their back, the older ones are on foot, in a joyous and relaxed atmosphere. A super friendly hike spending time in the great outdoors and experiencing the wonder of the surrounding nature.

The half-day includes :
- transportation to the Genti'Ânes farm,
- preparation of your donkey
- a 2-hour ride
- a snack: a homemade fruit drink (squeezed orange juice, strawberry nectar, basil leaves, orange blossom) and a Biscuit de Savoie from our pastry chef, to share with the whole family, accompanied by blueberry jam.
On arriving at the farm, you’ll receive a warm welcome and the children are invited to take the donkeys out of the meadow to get them ready. Introductions are made by brushing and taking care of the donkey, and having their first cuddles, before putting on the packsaddle. Very quickly, both children and parents feel at ease with the four-legged creatures, who have been pampered by their owner for years.
As soon as everyone is ready, the water bottles and afternoon teas are placed in the donkeys’ saddlebags, and the walk can begin, a leisurely one at the donkeys’ speed - watches and timekeeping are not needed. The donkeys set their own pace and bring a sense of calm, following the woodland paths of Thollon-les-Mémises, heading towards the Chablais mountains or to an extraordinary lake view. On reaching the destination, a delicious Savoie sponge cake, cooked by the Hôtel Royal's head pastry chef, Clément Pouillote, is shared out to the delight of all.
After capturing a few memories, the merry band heads back. No doubt, the donkeys might pick up the pace a little. On arriving back at the farm, the saddlebags are removed and animals are rewarded with a few carrots. After the final cuddles, the children take their companion of the day back to the meadow, hoping to see them again soon for another go.
